Methodology

Local Planners increases the processing capacity of a local authority, meaning that decisions on a development can be made efficiently and with clarity, taking into account the current policy decisions of the head of development control, so that more approvals in absolute terms are delivered.

 

The greater the number of applications being considered, the better chance of greater numbers of good, well thought-out development being approved – including vital housing delivery.

 

We provide a seamless service in support of planning departments. Elected officials can be confident that the quality, accuracy and the will of the members is considered, to no lesser an extent than it would be if they were dealing with the planning department directly.

 

Our fees, paid for by the developer under a PPA, are competitive. The agreement is still between the local authority and the developer. When asked to undertake consideration of an application, we work to produce a fixed price schedule and will assist in the drafting of the PPA if required.

 

This may be funded under a PPA or paid directly by the local authority, depending on the requirements of the local authority. If a local authority wishes to fund it themselves, we work with the local authority to ensure that we meet budgetary requirements.
